It is well known that if you trap air in your clothing it heats up and keeps you warm.
This is why down and puffer jackets work so well however they are bulky and if the outside temperature heats up you can cook inside such clothing.
The new R167x jacket from Result has an ingenious inner lining that you can inflate through the mouthpiece to increase the effective insulation when things get really cold down to -20C and when the sun comes up just squeeze out the air and you have a normal everyday jacket. The lining even zips out to give a lighter weight summer waterproof.
